Construction as a driver for development

The history of buildings is as old as the hills, and for humans and animals, it is the second stage of survival, right after the search for food.

With the need for protection from the adversities of the climate, from enemies and animals alike, the development goes from simple plant shelters to tents and to one-room huts with fireplaces. With the division of these huts into several areas, the differentiation of buildings began.

Separating families and people from each other and the specialisation of activities either in the building or outside the actual living space favoured the distinction between residential and industrial buildings. The construction boom since the industrial revolution still bears witness to this today.

In 1892 Heitkamp was founded as the civil engineering company E. Heitkamp. The changes in economic developments in Germany led to the insolvency of the parent company Heitkamp Bauholding and to divestments of the individual companies. Since 2014, our company, which now operates under the name Heitkamp Industrial Solutions GmbH, has been part of Rönesans Holding.

The focus of activities today is on the handling of industrial, commercial and public construction and plant engineering projects with a focus on structural and civil engineering, mechanical and electrotechnical assembly.
