Combination of different waste recovery & recycling plants

The joint venture Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, Matthäi Bauunternehmen and Heitkamp Industrial Solutions GmbH is building a pioneering waste recycling center for the ZRE waste recycling center in Hamburg Stellingen. It is considered a pioneering project in waste management and, when completed in 2025, will both recover around 9,600 tons of recyclables per year through a household waste sorting plant for recycling and generate electricity and heat through thermal waste treatment.

• As a circular economy company, SRH will be the largest supplier for Hamburg's needs.
• In building the ZRE, SRH is reusing existing plant components and infrastructure, symbolizing the shift from waste to resource management.
• Parts of the old plant will be refurbished and the modern waste recycling technology will get new energetically and architecturally interesting buildings.
